Attended by heads of states and environmental ministers, and shadowed by the aftermath of the tragic Ethiopian Airlines crash, the meeting brought together thousands of delegates and participants to discuss under the theme “Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production”. The event also included an exhibition for innovative industries and NGOs to present new solutions and activities to fight environmental challenges. By invitation from the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP, Vaisala presented its offering and solutions for air quality and weather monitoring. The AQT400 series compact air quality monitoring instruments attracted vivid interest especially as tools for pollution monitoring in developing countries. In a discussion event organized by UNEP, the Vaisala presentation on supplementary air quality monitoring was very well received, and Vaisala’s AQT400 sensors featured even on a quick Al Jazeera newsflash on innovative environmental solutions presented at the UNEA exhibition. More information on Vaisala’s air quality offering can be found on our website.
