Vaisala recognized in the global Quality Innovation Award competition

The groundbreaking Vaisala MGP261 biogas instrument has been awarded as Prize Winner in the category of Circular economy and carbon neutrality innovations of the global Quality Innovation Awards competition. The official award ceremony will take place in Belgrade in April.

The prize winning Vaisala MGP261 instrument’s patented measurement technology brings instant benefits to biogas producers. It enables turning waste to value by enhancing the process stability and supporting well-functioning active carbon filters and combined heat and power (CHP) engines in the biogas plant. In-line humidity, methane and carbon dioxide measurements can improve our customers’ profitability not to mention the benefits for the environment.

“Knowing the added value the MGP261 has to offer, it feels great to receive recognition from the global jury for this product. I want to recognize the efforts of our brilliant product development team, who designed this compact sustainable measurement solution that can benefit the whole biogas industry,” says Vaisala's Project Manager Otto Tierto.

The MGP261 is based on Vaisala's patented CARBOCAP® technology, which is the result of decades of technological expertise in the infrared measurements of gases. Thanks to the precision and stability, the instrument enables operators to control their biogas production process to maximize heat and electricity generation and to minimize downtime and repairs.
