Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide, Humidity and Temperature Measurement HPP270 Series

for bio-decontamination processes

The Vaisala PEROXCAP® Hydrogen Peroxide, Humidity, and Temperature Probe HPP270 series probes are designed for demanding hydrogen peroxide bio-decontamination. The probes are ideal wherever repeatable, stable, and accurate measurement is essential and suitable for a variety of applications such as isolator, material transfer hatch, and room bio-decontamination.

Options

The basic probe option HPP271 is for measuring only H2O2 vapor concentration. The advanced HPP272 probe measures all relevant parameters during bio-decontamination processes, including: hydrogen peroxide vapor, temperature, and humidity as relative saturation and relative humidity, dew point, and vapor pressure.

The probes can be used as standalone devices, or with Vaisala Indigo transmitters: Indigo200 transmitters and Indigo520 transmitters. For easy-to-use access to configuration, calibration, and adjustment the probe can be connected to Vaisala Insight PC software.

What customers say:

“Today, Vaisala is the best technology on the market to measure the concentration of H2O2 reliably, accurately, and repeatably over time... we have confidence in the data and we can prove to our customers the effectiveness of bio-decontamination cycles.”

Philippe Muylaert, Room Decontamination Service Specialist, STERIS SAS

“With the Vaisala probe it’s much easier to manage processes, especially in high humidity. We are often working in conditions that have up to 70 – 80% humidity so the HPP272 was a real gift!”

Key benefits

Measures reliably and accurately even in high humidity

Intelligent measurement technology including the chemical purge function helps to maintain accuracy between calibrations in challenging environments. The purging process involves rapid heating of the sensor to remove possible contamination. The PEROXCAP sensor used in the HPP270 series probes is warmed, which prevents condensation from forming on the sensor. This provides reliable measurement even in condensing conditions.

3 measurement parameters in 1 instrument

In addition to hydrogen peroxide, the compact HPP272 measures temperature and humidity, referring to both relative humidity and relative saturation. This gives exact hydrogen peroxide readings in ppm throughout the whole bio-decontamination cycle. Dew point and vapor pressure measurements are possible.

Successful audits

Repeatable measurement helps you pass audits and regulatory inspections successfully.

Stable H2O2 vapor sensing as a bio-decontamination game-changer

Vaporized H2O2 is becoming a favored bio-decontaminant due to its low toxicity and high efficacy in diverse applications. Because hydrogen peroxide decomposes into water and oxygen, it is more environmentally friendly and safer for operators than traditional bio-decontamination chemicals, such as formaldehyde or chlorine dioxide.
